As I worked a lot with perfectionists, I saw that their life is not that simple. Because in my opinion, nothing can be made perfect. If you thrive to make something perfect, at the end your struggling with delivering anything.
WHAT IS THOUGHT TO BE
PERFECT TODAY,
CAN BE
OBSOLETE TOMORROW!
Let me give you some examples:
- An offer today can be “presumed” as the best for now, BUT tomorrow there can be something better on the table. Therefore, better deliver fast but ask for fast feedback as well from your customer so you are able to adapt things that are missing: show your ability to deliver fast instead of losing too much time to perfectionism and miss on delivery and at the end lose the customer.
- Reaching your goal: A goal is like a growth path, you reach it by the repetition of “failing” and “standing up” to get better. If you think you never fail, you are unable to get better.
- “Doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.” That’s what a lot of people are doing and this will not make you better! Try to differentiate and use new approaches. There are only two options: You fail or you get better! It’s like training for a marathon: without intervals, you will not get faster.
- Your comfort zone is a beautiful zone but nothing grows there. To get better in sport or in business, you have to move out of this “comfort” zone.
Anything is possible!
with good preparation and endurance, you will not fail. That’s one of my life lessons. If you start something, you finish it.
It is better to be the last one finishing than to give up.
